Learning About Civil War

I was excited to learn more about civil war. I knew that it is about slavery and Abraham Lincoln. But that is all I know.

Learning Civil War – 1861 to 1865 – with my 4th grader was again another good feeding to my brain wanting to learn more about the US History.

So that my daughter and I would learn that Civil War is between North and South states. These South states – 11 of them – who decided to get out of the Union and founded the Confederate States of America.

We would learn that because of South states’ big farms of cotton and tobacco brought forth slavery. Which is the complete opposite of North states’ smaller farms and more on factories.

The Civil War comes with a great price. That after the slaves were freed through the Emancipation Proclamation, Abraham Lincoln was shot dead.  It was only few days after the Civil War concluded.

This is the visual we have come out to visualize a 4th grader level of Civil War.
